Ribeye Steak – Herbs & Butter
WOWWW !!! Best steak I’ve made!!
Heat cast iron frying pan on 2 for about 15 minutes. I used a number 12 Lodge.
Once it’s hot turn it up to 3. Heat until it starts to smoke a bit. I marinated the steak in olive oil, soya sauce and minced garlic for 2 days. Take the meat out to come to room temp a couple of hours before you start cooking.
There was marinade on the steak already, I just rubbed a bit of mazola on the side I was going to put down in the pan. I seasoned with kosher salt and ground pepper. I let it sear for 4 minutes on each side, put it in the oven at 250 until the meat thermometer registered at 129 degrees. I drained the oil from the pan, added butter, fresh thyme and rosemary, and basted on each side. Add a pat of butter to the top of each steak along with the herbs and let the meat rest for 10 minutes uncovered. We used butter knives at the table!!
