Homemade Cream Sauce
This cream sauce is very good. It’s very good without the cream too. Add to pasta, use for lasagna… we used it for Pasta with Cream Sauce with Sausage.
3 mild Italian Costco sausages.
Squeeze the meat out of the casings so they are tiny ball shapes, put on parchment paper and into the oven at 350 for about 20 minutes until cooked through.
Then…make the sauce with:
1 can Herbs and Spices whole tomatoes (C0-op)
1 can tomato sauce
2 red Sweet Pointed Peppers (Costco) chopped
1 yellow onion chopped
1 tbsp garlic puree
1 tbsp Italian Seasoning
Salt and Pepper
Garlic Powder
Basil to taste
Simmer tomatoes and tomato sauce (whole)
Fry peppers and onions in butter and olive oil until tender. I also added 1/3 tiny red HOT pepper. Wow. They are hot. Add to tomato sauce, get the immersion blender out and make everything smooth. So much fun!!
Add sausage balls, and simmer for as long as you can. Hours is good. Right before putting the pasta dish together, add some heavy cream. Keep warm.
