Brandy Gravy with Strips of Beef

Oh man, this is good!! The broccolini is over cooked buy hey there is bacon with it, and honey… so who cares?? They were delicious too.

I marinaded strips of beef in olive oil, soya sauce, garlic and horseradish for 2 days. Bring out of fridge to come to room temperature before cooking.

Heat a 12″ cast iron skillet (slowly) until it’s HOT. Add crisco oil. Add beef and marinade. Fry fast, just a couple of minutes. Remove meat. Add a paste made of butter and flour, stir into the meat drippings. Combine well. Add 1/3 cup of brandy, keep stirring. Add up to 2 cups of beef broth (depending on how much flour/butter paste you used.) Add 2 bay leaves and season with salt and pepper.  The meat you put aside will have drippings. Add them back to the gravy, once the gravy is smooth, and right before serving, add the meat back.

Serve over buttered, mashed potatoes.
